Yulong scramble to fill Everest slot
Private Harry

Yulong are looking for a horse to run in their slot for the Everest after Private Harry was ruled out for the spring on Monday.

The emerging power already has Angel Capital running in the James Harron slot and Magic Time in the Inglis slot, leaving it searching for an outside sprinter.

Manikato Stakes winner Charm Stone, of which Yulong owns a 10 per cent share, will stay in Melbourne rather than running in the Everest.

“We have a blank canvas at the moment,” Yulong’s head of operations, Sam Fairgray, said.

“There is not really a horse we own that we can put in, so we will have a look around and find a horse."

“The good thing is that we have until next Monday to find a horse, and I think we should get it done by the end of the week.”

Private Harry’s trainer Nathan Doyle contacted stewards on Monday and told them the boom sprinter would be spelled after pulling up lame from his disappointing Premiere Stakes effort.

Godolphin is yet to announce their horse for The Everest but filly Tempted is expected to be named in the slot.
