Mitch Freedman’s Group 1 winner Attrition stepped out for his first hit-out of the preparation in heat ten. The classy galloper wasn’t asked to do much in running second, cruising through the line under his own steam. Expect to see him have another jump-out before heading back to the races.

Heat 2 – Bold Oasis (1st)
Target – 1200m Maiden
First appearance for the Lee and Shannon Hope yard. Bold Oasis showed good natural speed to take up the running and held on to win the heat in fair time with plenty in hand. Previous runs have been spaced, suggesting he may be lightly framed or had minor setbacks, but he looks capable of breaking through in maiden grade.
Heat 12 – Cote Atlantique (2nd)
Target – 1400m BM100
Finished second in a sharp heat taken out by Roussillon. Loved the way Cote Atlantique worked to the line under minimal pressure, picking up strongly late. An import who was sound in Group 3 company at his only local outing. He’s had two jump-outs this prep and looks ready to return to the races in good order.
Heat 14 – Nonshalaant (1st)
Target – Short-course 0-58
Backed up a solid trial at Wangaratta on July 7 with another strong performance here. Nonshalaant is a 56-rated sprinter who handles all conditions and moves well in his action. Looks primed for his Victorian debut under new trainer Peter Burgun and should find a suitable target early in the prep.
