WANGARATTA

Race 1 - 1:15PM Enviro Liquid Waste Maiden Plate (1170 METRES)

#12 MUKATILA has jumped-out nicely on a few occasions. Albeit the time was moderate, she moved very well in her recent hit-out at Wodonga, winning comfortably under a good hold. Liked her effort on the Synthetic here at Wangaratta back in June, the first time I noted her down. Lachie King generally likes to ride them positive where he can, so expect this filly to be right on speed. Think she’s the horse to beat and a deserving favourite.

Also want to send #8 LUJAEGO around a winner. She didn’t have the best of luck at a crucial stage on debut last campaign, but jump-outs either side of that have been good, including her recent effort at Wodonga. Drawn for a reasonable run, she can win.

Suggested bet:

If spending $50, having $35 on MUKATILA, $15 on LUJAEGO

ARARAT

Race 1 - 1:35PM Butch Power Maiden Plate (1100 METRES)

Think there are two serious winning chances here both making their debuts. Loved the two jump-outs from #13 CRACKED IT, a 3yo daughter of Crackerjack King. She showed good speed and won her first jump-out by a space at Avoca before going to the line with a handy galloper in Simply Sassy at Great Western most recently. She has good gate speed and it looks like there’s a bit under the hood.

#7 ZERCARDY looks the danger. Jump-outs this time in have been excellent. He, too, can push forward on debut and should be most competitive.

Suggested bet:

Backing #13 CRACKED IT. Quinella #7 and #13.

Race 2 - 2:15PM bet365 Same Race Multi Maiden Plate (1300 METRES)

#7 MUSKITO has continually shown ability in jump-outs and trials. Won a jump-out by a space at Flemington back in August. Three jump-outs this time in have built nicely towards a 1300m debut. Has always jumped the gates well so expect him to be right on speed with Dean Yendall in the saddle from a good gate. Can make a winning debut.

#2 KILLENAULE makes his Australia debut. He’s never raced below a mile but was twice placed on Synthetic back in the UK and recent jump-outs were sound enough.

#4 CUTTIN’ CLASS has had his chances in equally weak Maidens but gets a nice run on speed.

Suggested bet:

Backing #7 MUSKITO, small bet #2 KILLENAULE
