Jimmysstar to run in Everest
Leading Victorian trainer Ciaron Maher will get a chance to defend his Everest title after Group 1-winner Jimmysstar was announced as TAB's horse in the race.
The announcement on Tuesday night paves the way for Jimmysstar to tackle Hong Kong sprinter Ka Ying Rising in the $20m feature in October.
Maher won last year's Everest with Bella Nipotina, who also raced in the TAB's slot.
Jimmysstar took his racing to a whole new level in 2025, winning two Group 1s during the summer and autumn. He put in an eye-catching performance to take out the G1 Oakleigh Plate in February and then went up to Sydney to win the G1 All Aged.
