Jenni eyeing off Treasurethe Moment clash
Pride of Jenni

Pride Of Jenni could launch her spring campaign in the Group 2 Feehan Stakes, setting up a mouth-watering clash with unbeaten mare Treasurethe Moment.

Trainer Ciaron Maher confirmed the multiple Group 1 winner had impressed in her latest Cranbourne jumpout on Monday, striding clear under regular rider Declan Bates to win by six lengths.

“She needed to show that she had come on, and she has,” Maher told SEN Track. “She’s made nice improvement over the last month, and we’d think she would be ready to kick off now.”

Maher said Pride Of Jenni’s owners Tony and Lyn Ottobre would have input on where she resumes, but the Feehan Stakes at Moonee Valley next week looms as a logical option.

That path would see the All-Star Mile winner take on Treasurethe Moment, who has won her past nine starts including four at Group 1 level, most recently the Memsie Stakes.

“Treasurethe Moment was extremely good last prep and she looks to have got even better,” Maher said.

Pride Of Jenni has not raced since her dominant All-Star Mile win in March but has been set for another spring assault targeting the Cox Plate.
