Racing Victoria have been forced to again cancel a race meeting due to hot weather.

Temperatures in Melbourne are expected to hit 41°C, with racing originally set for Werribee. A cool change is expected to hit the state late on Friday.

The meeting will now take place on Monday, January 12, with no other racing scheduled for the day.

Acceptances for the Werribee meeting have been deferred by 48 hours and will now be taken at 9am on Friday, 9 January. Race distances will remain unchanged.

RV moved Wednesday’s Sandown meeting due to hot weather, to Thursday, while Racing NSW has postponed the Wednesday Wagga race meeting due to a 44°C forecast.
