Hayes blames fake account for Ka Ying frenzy

Hong Kong trainer David Hayes has blamed a fake twitter account for the frenzy surrounding his star sprinter.

Betting on the The Everest and race favourite Ka Ying Rising was suspended at the TAB on Sunday night after he drifted to as much as $2.60 on Betfair with rumours the horse was not fit.

Hayes told Betsy he had never witnessed anything like the frenzy.

"This is laughable, I’ve never seen anything like this in 40 years in racing," he said.

"It’s all from someone saying he has a hind leg injury on a fake twitter account."

"You’ll all see he is all good tomorrow morning."

Hayes told Betsy the planned media event on Monday would go ahead.

"Everyone can decide for themselves when they see him on Monday," he told Betsy.

"I have had so many media calls in the last hour I don’t know what’s going on."

"All I know is my horse is back to his racing weight from Hong Kong and he will gallop in the morning as planned."

TAB confirmed they suspended their Everest market for a short period after a number of horses around Ka Ying Rising were backed. Stewards confirmed to Betsy that they spoke to the TAB and have been told there is no issues with Ka Ying Rising.

TAB have since reopened their market and Ka Ying Rising was $1.60 when the market was suspended, he has been reposted at $1.75.

All Everest runners will be trotted up on Monday by Racing NSW stewards with Ka Ying Rising to be done at 6am.
