Drop it like it’s not: Snoop's Manikato visit up in smoke

After a day of speculation, US music star Snoop Dogg won’t be performing at Moonee Valley on Friday night, Betsy understands.

Negotiations between the club and his management had been ongoing after news broke this morning he might appear at the Manikato Stakes on Friday night.

Speculation went into overdrive on Monday that the rapper would appear on Friday, including DJ sets and even tipping on the races.

Sources told Betsy while a deal was close to coming to fruition, it ultimately fell short and Snoop is almost certain not to be performing, meaning AFL Grand Final goers will be the first to take in his music live on this Australian visit.

The rap megastar is in Australia this week to perform at the AFL Grand Final between the Geelong Cats and Brisbane Lions.

The Valley CEO Michael Browell confirmed on Tuesday the star won't attend.
