We are off to Dubbo on this fine Sunday for another heat of the Country Championships Qualifier.
(1) Brutal Love looks the one to beat. He was dominant over this track and trip 28 days ago and has been kept up to the mark with a smart tick-over trial since. Maps well again and looks hard to beat.
(2) Kranich ran a career peak last start here at Dubbo over 1200m. Faces slightly stronger opposition this time but looks set to peak fitness-wise. The wide draw is the obvious query.
(8) Nimble Star gets the key booking of Roper in the saddle and loves racing at this track. Comes into this on the nine-day backup and looks capable of running a big race.
(13) Poisen Point drops nicely in the weights first up. Returns off a 106-day break and hasn’t been seen publicly at the trials, so the market and parade will be key indicators.
