Betsy's Bolters - Finding diamonds in the rough

Forget the favourites. We’re digging in the rough, unearthing the runners that can turn small stakes into serious treasure.

Favourites win plenty of races. But the real thrill, and often the real value, lies in finding the one the market hasn’t fully caught up with.

Betsy’s Bolters, proudly supported by Unibet, is our weekly search for punting gold. We dive deep into the replays, sectionals and market profiles to uncover runners flying under the radar, horses sitting at double-figure odds but with far more upside than their price suggests.

These aren’t wild darts. They’re calculated swings at big prices.

All odds are courtesy of Unibet (correct as at 21/03/26 at 8am).

Rosehill - Dean Watling

Race 3 No.7 Polymnia ($7.50)

Polymia was as good as Pinito last start over the 1600m, exceptionally strong last sectionals and now maps superior. Her best figures came over 1900m+ last prep and she keeps gun Zac Lloyd in the saddle.

Morphettville Parks - Mitch Lewis

Race 5 No.7 Arizona Wildfire ($14/$3.50)

Had market support on debut but was slightly disappointing, then went straight to the paddock. He has shown improvement in two recent trials and can bounce back.

Caulfield - Matt Welsh

Race 8 No.9 Charm Stone ($13/$3)

Look, Jimmysstar is the horse they have to beat, but he does have a sticky draw. Charm Stone draws ideally, will get a lovely run in the race and has trialled up solidly for this return. She can run a big race at odds.

Race 10 No.2 Bullets High ($26/$6)

Would have preferred him at a mile now, but Bullets High looks airborne for Kelvin Bourke. Noted his last 200m and work past the post when running last here first-up at 1200m. He then went to Echuca where he was totally luckless in the Cup. Strong speed should suit and he will charge at them late.
