Echuca Preview Track: Soft 6 (with further rain forecast)
Conditions: Expecting the surface to deteriorate; wide lanes in play. Leaning to race-fit horses proven on wet ground.
Race 3 – Magic Edition (EW)
Flying on the synthetic this prep and while his heavy track record isn’t flattering at first glance, a deeper look shows it’s not hopeless. Gets back in the run but should get the race shape to suit with strong tempo up front. Will be launching late.
Race 7 – Dilution & Flying D’Amore
- Dilution maps to lead with Jumping Pier Two and comes through a forgive run at Wangaratta when stuck on the inside – the wrong part of the track. Rarely wins, but neither do his rivals. This sets up well.
- Flying D’Amore was also a victim of bias last start at Moe, racing in the worst ground. She’s going well and relishes the sting out. Should be right in the finish.
Race 8 – Bastyan & Crimosa
- Bastyan trialled up soundly before a solid return at Warracknabeal. That form has since stood up and he should strip fitter. Will get back but the wide draw and open track could help him launch late.
- Crimosa is a noted fresh performer who’s trialled up nicely. Handles the wet and looks ready to fire first-up.
