Race 4 No.4 — Gala Queen
GALA QUEEN gets her chance here in what looks her most suitable set-up this preparation. The move away from Caulfield to the more expansive Flemington layout should be ideal, and she drops back in grade to a BM70.
Although she’s drawn wide, the 1600m start gives her time to find a position and work into the race. If good enough, she should get every possible chance today.
Betting suggestion: Backing Gala QueenRace 6 No.12 — Sun Setting (Best)
SUN SETTING is flying and comes off a strong win at Sandown against what looked a decent field. The 1100m may be her ceiling, but her last-start L600m over 1000m was the fourth quickest of the meeting. That turn of foot suggests she can stretch to this trip.
A repeat of her Sandown effort makes her very hard to stop.
