Bone scans have failed to give any insight as to why Antino delivered a Cox Plate shocker, with Tony Gollan confirming his star gelding will now be aimed at Sydney’s $5 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Comprehensive testing cleared the dual Group 1 winner of any injury concerns, with Gollan ordering a full suite of diagnostics, including bloodwork and bone scans, to rule out any underlying issues.

“We had him checked from top to tail, and the scans came back very clean,” Gollan told Racenet on Monday.

“He’s actually in great shape for a horse of his age.”

Ridden in a follow-up jump-out by Blake Shinn just days after the Cox Plate, Antino showed no signs of discomfort or mechanical issues.

“It’s just a case of reset and go again for the autumn,” Gollan added.
